To realize the
Maharishi Dayanand dream a group of enlightened, dedicated and devoted
followers with a deep sense of self denial, founded the Dayanand Anglo Vedic
College trust and Management Society with was registered in 1886. The society
founded it's first DAV school at Lahore in 1886 with Lala Hansraj (Later
known as Mahatma Hansraj Ji) as the honorary headmaster. Thus started the
movement which right from the beginning was led by visionaries and patriotic
men like Lala Lajpat Rai, Bhai Paramanand, Lala Dwarkadas, Principal Sen Das,
Bakshi Ram Ratan, Bakshi Tek Chandan other like minded people. It blossomed
into a unique institution, spread all over the country, emphasizing the
confluence of Indian thought and culture, with modern technology.
The movement suffered a temporary setback due to the partition of the
country. However the vigorous efforts of indomitable spirits like Principal
Mehr Chand, Lala Bal Raj and Justice Mehr Chand Mahajan put life back into it
and rehabilitated the organization. It has continued to surge ahead under
dynamic and inspiring personalities such as Dr. G. L. Dutta, Lala Suraj Bhan,
Professor Ved Vyas, Principal Gyan Prakash Chopra and Shri Garbari Lal.

D.A.V. MOVEMENT: AN INTRODUCTION... | |
| DAV College Trust and
Management Society, New Delhi, founded in 1886, launched an educational
movement, as part and parcel of the Indian National Movement. Deeply
entrenched in patriotic fervour, inspired by the Vedic culture and ideas, and
to perpetuate, promote and establish the ideals of Swami Dayanand Saraswati.
This educational movement has matured, mellowed and grown to wear the crown
of being the biggest NGO, dedicated to the service of education. Over the
years, in the last century, it has developed a beautiful garland of
illustrious 700 educational institutions oozing out cognitive fragrance and
exuding intellectual beauty, in every nook and corner of India.
The people of Bihar & Jharkhand have been especially and overwhelmingly
kind, responsive and adoptive to the DAV movement. Just over a period of last
27 years, there has been a spectacular and prolific growth and development of
DAV Public Schools. DAV Public Schools have simply crossed the hundred mark
in Ranchi Zone. |
FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK...
"Years a child spends in school has eternal impact on him.
Education especially school education has mainly two aspects - ‘Information’
and “Transformation’. The atmosphere of
the school is created in such a way as to enable the students to automatically
inhale values from it like oxygen. Such an atmosphere may be termed as
‘Invisible School’ which is more important than ‘Visible School’. Work without the expectation of reward is the key to
success in serving the nation and humanity. Doing more than what is expected of
one inspires the inner glow to work for the works’ sake. Taking Rs. 100 and
rendering service worth Rs. 95 is a betrayal to the nation equivalent to at
least Rs. 5. On the contrary, taking Rs. 100 and working worth Rs. 105 is
nationalism and patriotism (worth Rs. 5 at least). Accumulation of such
patriotism of a number of citizens can lead the nation to even unexpected
height of prosperity and development & this becomes a token of rewarding
life. May this school create an atmosphere to inculcate moral
values among the children and produce at least one individual every year who
has work culture in the real sense of term and feeling for the human beings. Our motto is ‘To scale new heights in academics and career
imbibing moral values of greater heights”. I am happy to launch this website. I am sure parents and students
will be immensely delighted & we’ll be very closely connected with one
another..."
